👩🏼❤️👨🏼Tommy and Tuppence are young and broke. After the war, there are no jobs available and, desperate for money, they decide to embark on a daring business scheme: Young Adventurers Ltd. This is how they come to know the existence of Jane Finn, a young American girl that has been missing for five years, with the secret documents that she was carrying. Now the future of England depends on finding her and the papers. Will T&T succeed where so many have failed?
❤️ I liked:
🎧 The pace. I listened to the audiobook and finished it quite soon. It is a dynamic story, full of turn of events. Also, there are not too many characters, so it’s easy to follow.
👩🏼❤️👨🏼 T&T. I thought they had quite a good synergy. They work well together because they complete each other: Tommy is clever and rational, while Tuppence is creative and impulsive. I feel like Tommy has escaped death one too many times, and he probably owes it to his cool head.
😎 Mr Brown. I kept changing my mind while reading the book and switching between two possible Mr Brown. I was not sure who he was till the very end of the book.
🤔 I wasn’t so sure about:
Some parts were a bit wacky. As I’ve already mentioned, I feel like Tommy escaped death too many times. And the idea of hiring these two young people with zero experience to save the government sounds a bit crazy.
⭐⭐⭐⭐ 4/5 This book was the pick of @murderatthebooclub for April. Definitely a lot of different opinions in the group: somebody hated it, somebody liked it. I found it entertaining and would recommend listening to the audiobook.
