The Plot
Flora loves Christmas more than anything else in the world. When her boss fires her from Deck the Halls Christmas emporium, she decides to follow her dreams: she books a spot at the Christmas Market in a small town in Lapland, where she’ll sell all things Christmassy, from her van.
❤️ What I liked about Flora’s Travelling Christmas Shop by Rebecca Raisin
⛰️ The Christmas market in Lapland. Another Christmas book set in the far North. It’s the third I read this year: it must be a sign that I have to go and visit these stunning locations!
🚋 Van Lifers. I loved the concept and the strong sense of community that brings this group of people together.
🎄 Christmas cheer. When Flora meets Connor – a sort of Scrooge that speaks with an Irish accent – she does everything she can to convince him that Christmas is much more than gifts, shopping and spending money. Christmas is joy, is family, is helping others and staying together.
I wasn’t so sure about
The characters. Once again, the characters are a bit too one-dimensional for me.
It’s about Van Lifers, but there is no travelling involved whatsoever.
To the score
⭐⭐⭐ 3/5 Another cosy Christmassy romance, to read drinking hot chocolate – or mulled wine – and listening to Christmas Carols.
